Privacy

Privacy should explain the product clearly, not bury it in legal filler.

This page outlines how Arktion handles accounts, reading activity, creator activity, and platform analytics across the public, auth, reader, and creator surfaces.

Effective date: May 22, 2026Applies to public, auth, reader, and creator surfaces

What we collect

Arktion only needs enough information to run the platform, improve discovery, and preserve reading state.

  • Account details such as email, display name, password hash, and role.
  • Reading activity like series views, chapter progress, bookmarks, and follows.
  • Creator activity such as drafts, uploads, publish actions, earnings views, and moderation events.
  • Technical data such as device type, browser, IP-based region, log events, and cookies needed for security and session continuity.

How we use data

We use data to operate the service, keep accounts secure, and make the public experience feel purposeful.

  • Authenticate users, maintain sessions, and prevent unauthorized access.
  • Render the public library, reader state, and creator workspace.
  • Improve search, recommendations, analytics, moderation, and anti-abuse checks.
  • Send transactional updates such as sign-in confirmations, password resets, or creator notices.

Sharing and processors

We may rely on vendors to host, analyze, secure, or send parts of the platform.

  • Infrastructure and auth providers that help operate the app.
  • Analytics or observability services used to understand reliability and product usage.
  • Payment, publishing, or communication services when those features are enabled.
  • Legal or safety disclosures when we are required to respond to lawful requests or enforce our policies.

Retention and controls

We keep data only as long as needed for the product and the user’s account lifecycle.

  • Session data may expire automatically when authentication ends or after inactivity.
  • Content and creator records may be retained while they remain active on the platform.
  • Users should eventually be able to access export, deletion, and privacy controls from account settings.
  • If you need data changes now, contact us directly and we will route the request appropriately.
